This is a 3d model based on a concept art piece by artist Chen Liang. While it has a complex and very angular design, it is still strikingly animal-like. Like most of my other pieces it was modeled in 3ds Max and rendered in Mental Ray. The main purpose of the project was to create a low-polygon model which looks like a high-polygon one through the use of the normal map technique. I learned a lot with this project, especially the unwrapping part.
